West Jefferson Water Line Project to Begin November 19, 2024

The Village of West Jefferson, Ohio, is preparing to undertake a significant infrastructure improvement project starting tomorrow, November 19, 2024. Crews will begin replacing a major water main, with work expected to continue through the end of the year, weather permitting. The project is estimated to take 4-6 weeks to complete.

The replacement will occur along several key routes, starting at Putnam at US 40, then extending through London Road, Pearl Street, US 142, US 40, and concluding at Bridge Street. The scope of the work includes replacing the main water line and connecting lateral lines, which may result in temporary service disruptions for residents. These interruptions are expected to be minimal, lasting an hour or less, particularly during the lateral line connections.

The village assures residents that they will be notified in advance of any planned water shut-offs. If necessary, a boil advisory will also be issued to maintain safety and health standards.
