nonprofit providing shoes to children in need. By the end of the morning, the event had raised $3,280, with Allstate Exteriors generously matching the total, bringing the final donation to $6,500. While the original goal of $10,000 was just out of reach, organizers said they are proud of the strong support shown by the community. “We are incredibly proud of what we achieved and grateful for the support from everyone who contributed,” said Macey Mullins, one of the event’s organizers. Sixty participants laced up and braved the cold to take part in the race, with many staying afterward to enjoy the festive atmosphere and food provided by Fuller Flavor Curbside Grill. Mullins said the camaraderie was one of the day’s best highlights, with participants sharing stories and laughter long after crossing the finish line.

The idea for the event was born after Allstate Exteriors’ longtime sponsorship of the local "Rockin’ on the Run" 5K came to an end. Wanting to keep the spirit of giving alive, Mullins, along with Kyle Ralston and Joe Mullins, created the Running Roofer 5K to continue supporting important causes. Last year’s event raised funds solely for St. Jude. This year, inspired by a trip Joe Mullins took to a roofing conference where he saw children without shoes, the team expanded its mission to also support Shoes for the Shoeless. The community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, and Mullins says they are already making plans for next year’s event. They even hope to expand into Dayton, Ohio, inviting other roofing companies to participate and helping the cause grow even further. “At Allstate Exteriors, our purpose is to generate and share wealth,” Mullins said. “When we talk about wealth, it’s not just financial — it’s about using the resources we have to invest in our team and our community. The Running Roofer is just the beginning of how we’re working to make a lasting impact.” In addition to the Running Roofer 5K, Allstate Exteriors plans to support several local initiatives throughout 2025, including youth sports teams, school events, and 4H programs—continuing their deep commitment to giving back.
