RideConnect Volunteer Driver Program Launches in Madison County

​Madison County’s transportation services just expanded with the official launch of the RideConnect volunteer driver program, a new initiative designed to bridge transportation gaps for residents in need.

Funded in part by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), RideConnect is now operating in Madison County to assist those who face barriers to transportation—particularly older adults, individuals with disabilities, and low-income residents.

This program is especially beneficial for individuals who:

• Need transportation to medical or non-medical appointments
• Are seeking rides to and from employment
• Require access to transportation outside of traditional transit hours
• Cannot afford private transportation services
  
  

“Many residents in our region have few to no options for getting to the appointments and opportunities that matter most,” said Lindsay Scites, program coordinator. “RideConnect is here to change that—and we’re looking for more volunteers to make it possible.”

RideConnect operates based on volunteer driver availability, and additional drivers are urgently needed to serve the growing demand.
