Plain City Kicks Off the Holiday Season with Festive Events and Activities

The Village of Plain City, Ohio, is ready to celebrate the holiday season with a series of exciting events and activities for residents of all ages. From dazzling light displays to a festive parade, there’s something for everyone in this year’s holiday lineup. Mark your calendars and join the fun as the Village spreads holiday cheer.

Drive Through Pastime Park Light Display
The festivities begin with a magical drive through the Pastime Park light display, a tradition that brings the holiday spirit to life with stunning lights and decorations.

Route 42 Holiday Hop: Saturday, December 7 (9:00 AM–12:00 PM)
Start your day with Plain City’s annual Route 42 Holiday Hop, featuring family-friendly fun and holiday specials from local businesses.

Participating Businesses and Activities Include:

• ACE Hardware: Pictures with Santa, donuts, and hot chocolate.
• Pleasant Valley Fire Department: Open house and touch-a-truck event.
• Richwood Bank: Santa, Grinch smoothie samples, complimentary coffee, and make-and-take ornaments.
• McDonald’s: Ornament crafts, coloring pages, and hot chocolate for kids.
• ASE Feed & Supply: Drawing for a child’s Farmall Pedal Tractor.
• Middlefield Banking Co.: Coffee, cookies, and a Garmin Forerunner giveaway.

Christmas Under the Clock: Saturday, December 7 (4:00 PM–7:00 PM)
Head to Uptown Plain City for the much-anticipated Christmas Under the Clock event.
Highlights include:

• Tree Lighting Ceremony: Festivities begin at 5:00 PM with live entertainment by local choirs, ensembles, and bands.
• Meet Santa and Live Reindeer: Snap a photo with Santa and meet his reindeer!
• Food Trucks and Local Vendors: Enjoy delicious food and shop for holiday gifts from craft vendors.
• Carriage Rides: Take a scenic ride to view the lights at Pastime Park.
• Gift Basket Raffle: Uptown businesses are raffling a $600+ gift basket filled with items from participating locations.

Santa’s Parade: Saturday, December 7 (7:30 PM–8:30 PM)
Wrap up the day with Santa’s Parade! Santa and his festive friends will spread holiday joy along the streets of Plain City. Be sure to wave, snap photos, and enjoy the holiday magic.

Holiday Decorating Contest: Entries Due by December 13 (4:00 PM)
Show off your holiday spirit by entering the 2024 Holiday Decorating Contest. Whether you're decking out your home or business, you could win cash prizes:

• 1st Place: $150
• 2nd Place: $100
• 3rd Place: $50

Letters to Santa: Due by December 15 (4:00 PM)
Children can send their letters to Santa using the special mailbox in Bicentennial Park. Every letter will receive a magical response directly from the North Pole. Make sure to include your return address!
