This morning, the Village of Plain City came together in a moving Veterans Day ceremony at Jonathan Alder High School to honor the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who have served our country.
The ceremony featured fourth-grade students presenting certificates of appreciation to local veterans, a gesture that deeply resonated with the attendees. Colonel Kenneth Ratliff delivered an inspiring address, sharing the history and significance of Veterans Day and reminding everyone of the importance of recognizing those who have fought for our freedom. Adding to the emotional atmosphere, the Jonathan Alder Band and Symphonic Choir performed stirring musical tributes, which complemented heartfelt comments and prayers shared by Mayor Jody Carney, Post Commander Colonel Homer Rogers Jr., and Post Chaplain William Diedrich. Their words echoed the community's gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of all veterans. The event was a collaborative effort made possible by the support of American Legion Post 248, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Jonathan Alder Local Schools. The Village’s Parks and Recreation Department also played an integral role in organizing the tribute, ensuring the morning was a fitting celebration of our nation's heroes. Plain City extends its sincere gratitude to all veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces. Your dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Not receiving our content regularly?
