Plain City Honors Military Heroes with 2025 Banner Display

Residents and visitors in Uptown Plain City will now see a powerful tribute lining the streets as part of the Plain City Military Heroes Banner Program. In partnership with American Legion Post 248, the Village has installed banners honoring twelve distinguished Veterans and Active Duty Service Members for the 2025 recognition cycle.

This marks the second year of the growing initiative, aimed at honoring those who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and who have resided in the Village of Plain City. The banners, now displayed throughout the Uptown District and along Village Boulevard, are a visual testament to Plain City’s commitment to remembering and celebrating its military community.

• E. Dobbins – U.S. Air Force, 1967–1973
• Howard Sam Eads – U.S. Marine Corps, 1955–1966
• Lester Evans – U.S. Army, 1942–1952
• Paul Huston – U.S. Army, 1967–1970
• Grant Johnson – Air Force Reserve, 2014–Present
• Lanny Greenbaum – U.S. Air Force, 1996–2019
• Ronald Lennex – Army National Guard, 2019–2021
• Douglas Martin – U.S. Army, 2015–2020
• Leonard Rihl – U.S. Army, 1970–1972
• Harley Teets – U.S. Air Force, 1999–2021
• Eugene Vanhoose – U.S. Marine Corps, 1956–1976

The banner program is a heartfelt community expression of gratitude and pride, and the Village invites residents to participate in the future. Applications for the 2026 Military Heroes Banners will be accepted this winter.
