The Plain City Historical Society warmly invites community members to attend their upcoming meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at 7:00 PM. The meeting, which is free to attend, will take place at the society’s headquarters located at 111 West Main Street, Plain City.
The theme of this month’s program is "The Converse Family," one of the area’s notable pioneer families. The society’s president has initiated a series to highlight local pioneer families, and this meeting will shine a spotlight on the rich history and legacy of the Converse family. Attendees will hear from Carol Converse Karrer and Chick Foust, who will share stories and insights about their family history. The event is particularly special for anyone with connections to the Converse family, and the society encourages those who have Converses in their family tree to come and join the conversation. A Glimpse Into HistoryIn a photo shared by Chick Foust, a vivid piece of the Converse family history is on display, featuring Effie Converse Foust, Grace Converse, Ruby Converse, Lori Converse, and Harold Smith Converse. The picture was taken in front of the 174-year-old house where Chick was born and raised, which is now home to his daughter Lauren and her family. Refreshments:Attendees can look forward to a cookie smorgasbord as they enjoy an evening of history, conversation, and community. This gathering offers a unique opportunity for residents to connect with the history of Plain City and learn more about the families that helped shape the community.
