Streets will close at 9:45 a.m., and all entrants must be in place by 9:30 a.m. to ensure a smooth and timely start.
This year’s theme encourages participants to “be creatively patriotic,” with awards to be presented for Most Patriotic, Best Youth Entry, and Best Float. Organizers are hoping to make this year’s celebration the biggest and most spirited yet, and are welcoming both returning and first-time participants. Registration is required for all vehicles and floats, and must be submitted by Friday, June 27, at 5:00 p.m. Only one person per group or organization needs to complete the registration form. Early registration ensures inclusion in the award judging and guarantees that the group will be announced during the parade. After the registration deadline, each entry will receive a designated number and a marked location within the park for lineup. That number will guide groups to their specific staging area the morning of the event. Organizers also encourage all registrants to check their email for final parade instructions. Following the parade, all vehicles must vacate the park or move to the designated parking area northeast of the North Entrance (Phelps land). Later in the day, from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m., shuttle services will be available from the new Plain City Elementary School and the Municipal Building for those returning to Pastime Park for evening festivities and fireworks. To register your entry or learn more, visit the official parade signup form. For questions, contact Denton Kitts at [email protected] or call 614-873-3527 Ext. 108. As Independence Day approaches, Plain City invites everyone to come together to celebrate community, country, and tradition with a parade that honors the spirit of July Fourth.
