meeting by performing a flag ceremony and leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Their presence set the tone for an evening focused on honoring service, both past and present.
Mayor Jody Carney issued two official proclamations during the meeting, each recognizing the significant contributions of local individuals and organizations. The first proclamation honored Plain City resident David Bushong, a Vietnam War veteran who served in the 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion. Mr. Bushong will soon participate in an Honor Flight Columbus trip to Washington, D.C., where he will visit national memorials dedicated to veterans. The program provides an opportunity for veterans to be celebrated and recognized for their service, and Mayor Carney’s proclamation expressed the community’s deep appreciation for Mr. Bushong’s dedication to the nation. The second proclamation was presented in recognition of the Plain City Police Department in conjunction with National Police Week. Officers Sgt. Howard and Officer Fritz attended the meeting to accept the honor on behalf of the department. The proclamation acknowledged the department’s ongoing service and commitment to the safety and well-being of the community. Village officials extended their thanks to all the evening’s guests and honorees, noting that their presence made the meeting especially meaningful.
