MATCO Services Prepares for Summer with Gardening, Tie-Dye, and Gratitude

With summer just around the corner, MATCO Services Inc. is buzzing with activity. From prepping handmade goods for the upcoming Lions Club Summer Bash to getting their hands dirty in the garden, participants and staff have been embracing the season with energy and enthusiasm.

One of the week’s highlights was the planting of fresh vegetables in MATCO’s raised garden boxes. The recent rains came at the perfect time, giving the new plants a strong start and saving participants the task of daily watering. Still, the team got to put their new water tank to good use on planting day—an upgrade that made a big difference.

The 50-gallon tank, donated by the Master Gardeners last season, has been a game-changer for MATCO’s gardening efforts. “No more carrying milk jugs of water back and forth,” staff shared in appreciation. The easy-to-use setup helps participants care for the garden more efficiently while learning about sustainability and food production.

In addition to their outdoor efforts, the MATCO team is hard at work preparing a collection of tie-dyed creations for the Lions Club Summer Bash. These colorful, handmade items are always a favorite at community events and showcase the creativity and skill of individuals involved in the MATCO program.
