MadisonConnect Highlights June Transportation News, Events, and Resources Across Madison County

The June 2025 edition of MadisonConnect offers a comprehensive update on transportation initiatives, events, and resources available to residents across the county.

This month’s newsletter invites the community to attend the upcoming Transportation Advisory Committee Meeting on Wednesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 825 US Highway 42 NE, London. The gathering will focus on ongoing efforts to expand accessible, affordable transportation options throughout the county.

A major highlight of the issue is the promotion of active transportation—including walking, bicycling, and other forms of human-powered movement—as a strategy to improve public health and community connectivity. The newsletter also explores the broader health benefits of these efforts and highlights the important work of organizations like the Friends of Madison County Parks and Trails, which helps maintain the Ohio to Erie Trail.

For biking enthusiasts, details are shared for the 2025 London Strawberry Bicycle Tour, set for Saturday, June 14. Riders can choose from four route lengths (21, 44, 62, or 100 miles), each offering scenic views and varying terrain. Registration before June 9 saves time and money, with proceeds supporting trail upkeep and recreational opportunities in the area.

The newsletter also outlines critical transportation services for seniors and Medicaid beneficiaries, including handicap-accessible rides, non-emergency medical transportation, and general public transit through Fayette Madison Transit.
