Madison Plains Hosts Food Drive Event During Basketball Matchup Against London Red Raiders

Looking for plans on Saturday, January 18, 2025? Join the Madison Plains Eagles as they face off against the London Red Raiders in an exciting afternoon of basketball! The games begin at 1:00 PM at the Madison Plains Intermediate/Elementary School, with action continuing throughout the day.

In addition to the basketball showdown, the event will feature a Food Drive to support local youth through the Bright Bites Program. This newly established initiative, formerly known as Sufficient Grace, provides weekend food bags for children in need across the Madison Plains, London, and West Jefferson school districts.

Attendees are encouraged to bring items from the donation list, including:

• Instant oatmeal
• Small cereal boxes
• Granola bars
• Fruit snacks
• JIF to-go packs
• Chef Boyardee cups
• Ramen noodles
• Squeeze applesauce
• Goldfish crackers
• Easy Mac (packets, not cups)

All donations will be collected onsite by volunteers from the Mt. Sterling Community Center, who are leading the effort to ensure no child in the community goes hungry.
