Madison County, OH — Throughout October, members of the Jefferson Township Fire Department wore unique duty shirts for a cause close to their hearts. The department held an internal fundraiser to support breast cancer patients, raising $508 from the sale of these special shirts. With a generous dollar-for-dollar match from the department’s association, the total donation reached $1,016.
The funds raised were donated to the Mona Flax Breast Cancer Endowment Fund, managed by the Madison Health Foundation. This local fund helps provide breast cancer patients in the community with financial support for diagnostic testing and treatment services, ensuring access to critical care for those in need. “We’re grateful to our firefighters, their families, and close friends who participated in this fundraiser. Together, we were able to make a meaningful contribution to support local patients battling breast cancer,” said a representative of the Jefferson Township Fire Department. The department extended thanks to Designed to Inspire for producing the T-shirts and to Madison Health for its ongoing commitment to serving the community. And there’s good news for community members wanting to get involved—next year, the Jefferson Township Fire Department plans to make the fundraiser even bigger by opening up the T-shirt sale to the public. Keep an eye out for the opportunity to support this great cause and join the firefighters in their mission to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
