Bridges Community Action Partnership Offers Winter Crisis Program for Madison County Residents

Madison County residents facing heating emergencies this winter can turn to the Bridges Community Action Partnership for assistance. From November 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025, the Winter Crisis Program provides critical support to those struggling to keep their homes warm during the coldest months of the year.

Program Benefits:
The program helps with:

• Paying heating bills for households that are disconnected or at risk of disconnection.
• Households with less than a 25% supply of bulk fuel or wood.
• Assistance with establishing or transferring heating services.
• PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plan) enrollment or assistance with a PIPP default for first-time participants.

​Who Qualifies:To be eligible, applicants must:

• Have a household income below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level.
• Be experiencing one of the above-mentioned heating-related emergencies.

Required Documents:
Applicants should bring the following:

• Proof of income for the last 30 days (or call ahead if self-employed or seasonally employed for detailed instructions).
• Most recent heating and electric bills.
• Birth dates and Social Security numbers for all household members.
• Proof of disability (if applicable).
• Proof of citizenship, such as birth certificates or Social Security cards for all household members.
