London Students Continue to Thrive in District’s Expanding College Credit Plus Program

Recently, U.S. News & World Report released its rankings of over 20,000 high schools in America, but the rankings, which rely heavily on the number of Advanced Placement (AP) courses a school offers, are becoming increasingly outdated. The problem is that colleges and universities have discretion on which courses and AP test scores can be accepted to award college credit. Amazingly, what the rankings don’t measure is the actual number of college credits students receive.

MHRB Readies for November Ballot and Levy Renewal

Madison County Mental Health Recovery Board
​The Mental Health Recovery Board of Clark, Greene, & Madison Counties (MHRB) will appear on Madison County residents’ ballots on November 4, 2025. This renewal levy will be asking voters to say YES to mental health and contain no new taxes.
The renewal levy will keep the same funding levels for CRITICAL services to support families and people in the Madison County community. This funding currently costs a homeowner ($100,000 home value) approximately $8 per year, or 67 cents per month, for access to mental health and recovery services.

50,000-square-foot addition will expand career-technical opportunities for students in Central Ohio

Tolles Career & Technical Center Groundbreaking
​Tolles Career & Technical Center will host a public groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate the start of construction on a 50,000-square-foot, $30 million expansion of its campus.

The project, funded through local support, will add state-of-the-art labs and learning spaces for Tolles’ pre-nursing, early childhood education, welding, and construction programs. The new additions will be built on two sides of the existing facility, allowing the district to serve more students and meet the growing workforce needs of Central Ohio.

For four weeks, three men from Madison Correctional Institution dedicated their time and skills to giving the facilities a much-needed refresh — a tradition that has become a welcome annual project.

The Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) is stepping into the exciting world of 3D printing — and using it to make a real difference right here at home.

Thanks to a generous donation from Fraternal Order of Eagles #950, MCBDD has acquired two new 3D printers at its central office. The program, known as Print-Abilities, is designed to create adaptive equipment for individuals in our community — most of it free of charge — to help improve everyday life.

The community is invited to come together for A Brighter Path: Overdose Awareness Color Walk on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Cowling Park, 175 N. Main Street in London, Ohio. This free, family-friendly event is designed to celebrate recovery, raise awareness, and offer resources for those impacted by substance use.

​The highlight of the day is the Color Walk, where participants will circle the park while being splashed with vibrant, washable color powder. Attendees are encouraged to wear white to make the colors pop. A limited supply of free white T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
