The Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) will host its 26th Annual Golf Scramble on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the National Road Golf Course, located at 5135 US-40 in West Jefferson, Ohio. This much-anticipated event is the Board’s primary annual fundraiser supporting its recreation program and helping fund Special Olympics in Madison County. Over the past 25 years, this outing has raised more than $220,000, enabling individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities to participate in sports and other recreational activities. 🏌️ Schedule of Events:
H.E.L.P. House is once again stepping up to ensure that every child can return to school with confidence, dignity, and the essentials they need to succeed. The annual Back-to-School Outreach Event will be held on Saturday, August 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering free school supplies and clothing to children in need across Madison County.
The outreach effort is designed to support economically disadvantaged students by providing not just supplies, but also clothing, shoes, and new socks and underwear—giving children the boost they need to start the year strong. How to Help
In addition to the discount, Shoe Sensation will donate 10% of all sales during the event to the London City Schools Raider Rack. The Raider Rack is the district’s free “store,” providing essential items like clothing, shoes, toiletries, and winter apparel to students in need. The main store is located on the second floor of London Elementary School, with satellite locations available at both London Middle School and London High School.
The Raider Rack is entirely sustained by donations from the community, making this sale a great opportunity to both save and give back. Community members can pick up great shoes and the satisfaction of supporting local students and a local business. The group will depart at 8:00 a.m., with the first stop for lunch at Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen. Afterward, the journey continues with visits to Heini’s Cheese Chalet, Sol’s in Berlin, Coblentz Chocolates, and Hillcrest Orchard. The return to Madison County is expected by 6:30 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to bring an insulated bag or small cooler for any cheese or perishable items purchased throughout the day. An envelope will be passed during the trip for an optional driver tip. Trip fees are due by September 1. You do not need to be a senior or a member of the Center to join—just over the age of 21. For more details or to reserve your seat, call 740-852-3001. Enjoy a delicious meal at Los Mariachis (located in London, OH) on July 21-22-23 from 11am-10pm and 20% of your dinner bill (excluding tax) will be donated directly to HSMC to help care for homeless and rescued pets. All you have to do is bring a printed flyer to the restaurant and enjoy your meal!
🔸 Important: You must bring the flyer with you to participate. 📄 Download the flyer here! Flyers will not be accepted if distributed inside or outside the restaurant during the event. This is a simple and tasty way to give back to a great cause. Every bite helps a tail wag! 🐶🐾 Thank you for your continued support of the animals and the mission of the Humane Society of Madison County. For more ways to support or adopt, visit: www.hsmcohio.org
