2025 Farmers’ Breakfast Series Offers Insightful Sessions on Agricultural Topics

​Plain City, OH — Local farmers and agricultural professionals are invited to participate in the upcoming 2025 Farmers’ Breakfast Series, hosted by OSU Extension in partnership with the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). This annual event features three informative sessions, each addressing key issues and opportunities in modern agriculture.

The breakfasts will take place at Der Dutchman Restaurant, located at 445 S Jefferson Ave, Plain City. Doors open at 8:15 AM, and sessions run from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required.
Schedule and Topics
  1. Friday, January 24th – Agricultural Law Outlook: What We’re Watching in 2025
    • Speakers:
      • Peggy Kirk Hall, J.D.: Attorney and Director of the Agricultural and Resource Law Program at OSU Extension. Hall specializes in property rights, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
      • Robert Moore, J.D.: Attorney with OSU Agricultural and Resource Law Program, with expertise in estate planning and farm succession planning.

  2. Friday, February 28th – Carbon Intensity and Soil Health
    • Speakers:
      • Mike Estadt: OSU Extension Educator in Pickaway County, with expertise in sustainable agriculture, energy systems, and farm carbon strategies.
      • Jim Ippolito: Soil Scientist and Professor at The Ohio State University, focusing on soil fertility, nutrient management, and sustainable agricultural practices.

  3. Friday, March 28th – CAUV and Workers Compensation
    • Speakers:
      • Andrea Weaver: Union County Auditor, with experience in leadership and government finance.
      • Andrew Bishop: CAUV Administrator for Union County, offering expertise in GIS data and agricultural land valuations.
      • Wayne Dellinger: OSU Extension Educator, specializing in agricultural risk management, farm safety, and sustainability.

Additional Information
The Ohio Farm Bureau Group Rating members are required to attend one safety seminar annually to qualify for the program, making this event a perfect opportunity for compliance.
