MadisonConnect Newsletter Highlights Ongoing Efforts to Improve Countywide Transportation Access

​The July 2025 issue of the MadisonConnect newsletter spotlights ongoing work to increase affordable and accessible transportation options across Madison County. The community-driven initiative, comprised of local leaders and stakeholders, aims to address mobility challenges through collaboration, innovation, and outreach.

The latest edition includes a variety of updates and resources, from senior transportation services and Medicaid ride coordination to the introduction of Uber Health’s non-emergency medical transportation platform in Franklin and

Madison counties. This service allows care coordinators to schedule rides and deliveries for patients—without requiring smartphones or the Uber app—offering a much-needed solution for those with limited transportation access.

A key feature of this month’s newsletter is the announcement of the upcoming Transportation Advisory Committee Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 825 US Highway 42 NE in London. Community members are encouraged to attend and contribute to discussions around improving mobility countywide.

Other highlights include:

• A county-wide transportation survey to help identify future needs.
• Detailed contact information for general public and specialized transit providers including Fayette Madison Transit, Valley Transport (Medicaid rides), and the Madison County Senior Center.
• Resources for veterans, seniors, and residents in need of non-emergency ambulance transportation.
• Updates from Friends of Madison County Parks and Trails and RideConnect initiatives.

The newsletter serves as a comprehensive guide for residents, caregivers, and providers seeking transportation solutions—whether to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, or community events.
